These amazing bees...

The leafcutter is a hard-working pollinator that often pollinates alfalfa seed. For over 35 years, our family has provided a service to farmers by cleaning the leafcutter bee board. These bees build their nest by lining a tunnel with leaves, then they lay an egg, pack it in well with pollen, nectar, petals and more leaves. They continue this process until the tunnel is full. As the bees hatch, they eat their way out of these holes. What they leave behind is what we call LCBee™. But, back to the bees. They get right to work pollinating the alfalfa seed. The farmers provide a clean board for them and bring the used one to us for cleaning.  We bake these boards in a large oven to dehydrate the contents for cleaning. What comes out of these boards is what goes into our bags. The bees love the cleaned boards, as they smell like home. It provides them a clean, sterile environment for their next life cycle.
